Doctoral colloquium

The 6th International Tourism Forum is organizing its second Doctoral Colloquium so that PhD students working on topics related to the field of tourism may present the approaches and/or results of their research and participate in an exchange of scientific ideas with other students and more experienced researchers. In keeping with the aim of providing guidance in the development of the doctoral thesis, the Doctoral Colloquium will accept thesis projects, not summaries of doctoral theses that have already been defended.

This Doctoral Colloquium seeks to enhance various skills of students currently working on their doctoral thesis, such as their ability to present and disseminate their research results, while at the same time contributing ideas and comments that enrich the research of participants in the Doctoral Colloquium, and fostering the creation or expansion of research collaborations.

In this regard, participation in the Doctoral Colloquium neither replaces nor limits the possibility for doctoral candidates to additionally submit full scientific papers to the general sessions of the Forum, in accordance with the ordinary evaluation criteria and procedures established for such submissions. In this way, work derived from ongoing theses may be channeled through the general scientific sessions, while the Doctoral Colloquium is designed as a complementary space specifically focused on the development and guidance of the doctoral thesis.

This recognition will be granted to the paper presented in the Doctoral Colloquium that stands out for the quality of its research design, the relevance of the research problem, methodological coherence, and the development potential of the doctoral thesis.

The evaluation will take into account the diversity of stages at which research projects may be, recognizing both the solidity of more advanced work and the interest, originality, and academic potential of research in its early stages.
