Submission guidelines
40 grants will be awarded to non-residents of Melilla for transportation and accommodation. The grant amounts will be up to €400 gross. Priority will be given to those who have never received a grant from the Forum and who are also defending a paper (the grant will be awarded exclusively to the person defending it at the Forum, not to the group of co-authors of the paper) or participating in the doctoral colloquium (see the doctoral colloquium section for more information).
Requirements for applying for funding:
- Register, if you wish to be eligible for funding from the Forum, between June 12 and July 3, 2025, enclosing the registration fee (this deadline cannot be extended as it is included in the call for grants) and a brief summary of the presentation to be submitted. The registration fee, which is not eligible for funding, must be made to account number ES58 2100 4224 3913 0072 0546, with the subject line "Registration for the 5th Melilla Tourism Forum."
- Submit the grant application. Applications must be submitted through the Generic Application procedure of the UGR Electronic Registry (https://sede.ugr.es/procs/Solicitud-generica-para-la-UGR/). Applications must be addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law of Melilla. Applications not submitted through this method will not be processed. The regulations require providing a certificate of registration to verify non-resident status in Melilla, a copy of the registration payment and a responsible declaration stating that you are not subject to any of the situations that prevent you from obtaining the status of beneficiary of subsidies, as set out in article 13 of Law 38/2003 General Subsidies (declaration form:

Failure to provide the required documentation will be cause for exclusion. - Attend 80% of the forum sessions.
Those who register after July 3rd will not be eligible for Forum funding, but they will be eligible for the tourist voucher offered by the Autonomous City of Melilla, with discounts of up to 75% on transportation and accommodation (https://bonosmelilla.es).
Submission of Papers:
- From June 12th to July 3rd if you wish to be eligible for Forum funding.
- From July 4th to September 19th if you are not eligible for Forum funding.

Submissions will be accepted in Spanish or English.
Each author may participate in a maximum of three submissions. Attendance at 80% of the Academic and/or Professional Forum is required to receive a certificate.

Publishing Options
Accepted papers may be included as a book chapter in the prestigious publishing house Dykinson S.L. (Q1 SPI). A deadline will be given for changing/adapting the book chapter once it has been evaluated at the conference. The completed and adapted template should be sent to Minerva Aguilar Rivero (u52agrim@uco.es).
Alternatively, accepted papers may be included in a special issue of the Italian Journal of Tourism.
